Post-Publication Discussion and Critique Policy

Post-Publication Discussion and Critique Policy

Abdimasnu is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record. In accordance with the principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)

Abdimasnu provides a mechanism for readers and the scholarly community to raise critiques, comments, requests for clarification, or new information concerning published articles.

Post-Publication Critiques

A post-publication critique is a formal scholarly communication concerning a published article and may be submitted as a Letter to the Editor, Commentary, Comment, Correspondence, or another form determined by Abdimasnu. Critiques must be relevant, constructive, evidence-based, and professionally presented.

Each critique will undergo an editorial assessment. JITCS may request additional evidence or information and, where necessary, seek assessment from reviewers or independent experts. Relevant conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

Author Response

When a critique is considered suitable for publication, Abdimasnu will provide the original author(s) with an opportunity to submit a response or reply. Critiques and responses may undergo peer review and revision. If the original author(s) do not respond within the specified period, Abdimasnu may still publish the critique if it meets the Journal's scholarly and editorial standards. Failure to respond does not constitute an admission that the critique is correct.

Actions Concerning Published Articles

If a critique identifies an error or concern regarding the original article, Abdimasnuwill determine the appropriate action. Correctable errors may be addressed through a Correction. Serious unresolved concerns may result in an Expression of Concern, while an article that is demonstrated to be unreliable may be Retracted, in accordance with relevant COPE guidance.

If a critique raises concerns about research or publication misconduct, Abdimasnu will handle the matter in accordance with its Research and Publication Misconduct Policy.

JITCS may close a discussion when the issue has been resolved, no new information is provided, or further correspondence no longer makes a meaningful scholarly contribution. However, new material evidence may be considered at any time.

This policy follows relevant COPE guidance on post-publication discussions and critiques and mechanisms for correcting or amending published articles.
